1. Introduction

Assistant Management LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Forklet™. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the “Service”).

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name through our authentication provider (Clerk). We do not store passwords directly.

Recipe Data: Recipes you create, import, or extract through the Service, including ingredients, steps, notes, and associated metadata. This data is stored to provide the Service to you.

Usage Data: We collect anonymized usage analytics including feature interactions, session duration, and crash reports to improve the Service. We do not track your browsing activity outside the Service.

URLs You Submit: When you use recipe extraction, we process the URL you provide to extract recipe content. We may retain the URL and extracted data to improve extraction accuracy.

Device Information: Basic device information including device type, operating system version, and app version for compatibility and debugging purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: (a) provide, maintain, and improve the Service; (b) process recipe extractions and AI-powered features; (c) manage your account and subscription; (d) send service-related communications; (e) analyze usage patterns to improve features; (f) detect and prevent fraud or abuse.

4. AI Processing

Recipe extraction and AI features use third-party AI services (Anthropic Claude) to process content. URLs and recipe content are sent to these services for processing. We do not use your personal recipe data to train AI models. AI-generated content (hints, variations, pairings) is produced in real-time and not stored for model training.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Clerk — Authentication and user management

RevenueCat — Subscription management and payment processing (via Apple App Store)

Railway — Server hosting and database

Vercel — Website hosting

Anthropic — AI recipe extraction and analysis

Each of these services has their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by Railway (PostgreSQL database). We use encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and implement reasonable security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers. We may share data only: (a) with your consent; (b) with service providers who assist in operating the Service (listed in Section 5); (c) to comply with legal obligations; (d) to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to: (a) access your personal data; (b) correct inaccurate data; (c) delete your account and associated data; (d) export your recipe data; (e) opt out of non-essential communications. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@forklet.app.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data and recipes within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymized usage analytics may be retained indefinitely.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

11. California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

12. International Users

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
